MARGARET WISE BROWN (1910-1952), famous for writing Goodnight Moon, wrote dozens of bestselling stories for Golden Books, including "The Golden Egg Book, ""The Color Kittens, " and "Home For A Bunny. " GERTRUDE CRAMPTON (1909-1996), was a teacher who created two of Golden Books' most iconic characters: "Tootle" and "Scuffy the Tugboat."TIBOR GERGELY (1900-1978), who immigrated to the United States from Hungary in 1939, illustrated more than 70 Golden Books. With crisp detail and vibrant color, he brought some of the most beloved Golden characters to life, including "Scuffy the Tugboat," "The Little Red Caboose, " and "Tootle." ART SEIDEN (1923-2004) was a successful illustrator in the advertising world, and also illustrated over 300 children's books in his long career.
