What the World Eats
Author(s): Peter Menzel
This photographic collection exploring what the world eats features portraits of 25 families from 21 countries surrounded by a week's worth of food. While some people have barely enough to eat, such as the Aboubakars in a Chad refugee camp, others in the United States, Britain and Japan over-indulge in processed and packaged food. This adapted version of Hungry Planet: What the World Eats is for readers aged 10 plus and includes an article and photos about each family, and often a recipe, as well as small maps and facts about their countries, world population and obesity statistics, and literacy, fertility and life expectancy rates.
